Alice Ford (Adventure Writer/Youtuber)

Where does your self-worth come from?

My self worth comes from within. I meditate every morning and set goals for myself on a daily, weekly and yearly basis. I work hard to not only make a plan for my life and what I want out of it, but also to practice affirmations and self love on a daily basis. I surround myself with people that support me and what I want in life and have a commitment to myself to not get caught up in negativity.

Where do you find meaning in your life?

I find meaning in everything I do. If I didn’t I wouldn’t be doing it. I love my work because I love to share experiences and happiness with others. I find peace and tranquility in nature and joy in exercise so I incorporate all these things into my life and work. My passion for my work rubs off on others and I see how it positively effects people which gives great meaning to my life.

Where do you think is the most worthwhile place to find meaning in life? Work, family, hobby, religion, philosophy, helping others, all the small miracles, or something else entirely?

This is a tricky question because the answer will never be the same for anyone. I believe that many people find meaning in religion when their lives are difficult or hopeless, and it gives them something to believe in, a means of hope. For me I find meaning in helping people and through education, as I believe in the philosophy of education as a solution for many issues. So many of the worlds biggest issues have risen due to people not being educated on a certain topic. With knowledge we can change the world.

What are you currently worried about?

I am worried about climate change and pollution. And that are world is becoming more dependent on technology, to the point of which people can no longer problem solve or even observe what is happening around them. I am also worried that the notion of a throw away society is becoming such a hard thing to fight against. We have overpopulation and lack of resources for education, waste systems and water and sanitation that is filling our world with garbage and changing the climate to the point of no return.

In the past people were buried with the items they would need in the afterlife, what would you want buried with you so you could use it in the afterlife?

A water filter and my floppy hat I’m sure it will be sunny, and I’ll be thirsty after I’m buried in the ground.
